Biomaterial tests made from coffee and gold micas.
Welcome to this selected portfolio. I'm Gretel, an Argentinean Art Director and Graphic Designer based in Buenos Aires.
I'm looking for an Elisava Master in Design Through New Materials Scholarship to introduce myself even more to tangible design and object creation, plus learn new skills in a way that is aligned with my philosophy and my purpose of creating a better tomorrow.
Being formed in design and choosing to do it daily, rooted in my need to solve problems. Yet I keep questioning myself about what impact my actions have in such a rapid and volatile environment, and how can I use my creativity to make something better, usable, and scalable to improve daily life keeping in mind that the resources are limited and aggressively exploited.

1. Strained coffee with splashed water. 2. Medium-ground coffee with less hydration. 3. Coarsely-ground coffee with gold mica. (All coffee used was residue)

Yerba biomaterial tests on thickness and opacity.
The concept of Alchemy, transmuting a matter into a different one, is something I've felt drawn to since I can remember, that's why I've had approaches to materials in a wide scope of disciplines. I studied ceramics, professional pastry, natural cosmetics, energy saving, residue treatment, and new materials too. I also kept myself inspired and motivated by professionals and artists who deeply connect with the environment and physical design.
I have the power to transform all these experiences into applicable solutions, and the best way to do it is with more knowledgeable people with whom I can co-create and help me grow in this area I'm eager to enter.
Thank you for your time and hope to meet you soon.
Best,
Gretel
